a little intro:

 Well Hello! My name is Mary Catherine Courtney, but I go by Mary Cate. I’m originally from Mobile, AL, but I’ve spent the last five years living in Orange Beach. I’m incredibly blessed to have a loving and faith-filled family who has supported me every step of the way. My mom and dad have been my biggest cheerleaders, and my younger siblings, Jack and Kendall, are truly my best friends. Even though I miss them dearly, I know they’re cheering me on from the beach. I am a huge animal lover. I have two rescue dogs of my own that bring me joy every day.
     Over the past two years, I’ve had the opportunity to work in several roles within the Orange Beach school system. I began as an after-school care aide and eventually earned a teaching contract in their theatre program. During my time there, I had the privilege of leading and organizing more than six productions alongside an incredible team. My favorite part of teaching was making each student feel seen and valued every day. While I love working with students, I discovered that my true passion lies in communications and marketing, especially when it comes to promoting school programs and events. My dream is to work in communications within a school system, allowing me to make a positive impact on students while pursuing what I love.
     This fall, I’m starting at Spring Hill College as a junior after completing two years of online classes while living at the beach. I couldn’t be happier to be at SHC.I am confident that this school will not only allow me to build relationships academically, but spiritually as well.  I’m on track to graduate with a degree in Strategic Communication, and I’m so excited to spend these next two years building connections, learning as much as I can, and preparing for a career where I can make a difference.
